The economic situation is forcing all business leaders to take a hard look at what they spend. This is an opportunity for marketers to demonstrate the potential of marketing! Yup, it is. Marketing and business development must be tied to results. In future posts I’ll talk about the types of results today’s business leaders need from b2b marketers.

In the meantime, this very short interview, with Richard Branson and Seth Godin asks the question whether marketing is needed during these recessionary/recovering times. While they refer to consumer oriented businesses the same holds true for B2B companies.
